As a company, Marbles Knives has been in the business of making knives since 1902. It was originally founded by J.D. Marbles in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. His son, John D. Marbles Jr., eventually took over and ran the company until his death in 1992. At that point, his wife and son continued to run the company until it was sold in 2002. The new owners moved the company to Manheim, Pennsylvania and continued to produce knives there until 2007 when they relocated the company to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The current owner is Rick Horton who purchased the company in 2009.
